Word 5.00: Broken Background Shading with Imported Graphics

SUMMARY
In Microsoft Word version 5.00, uneven or broken shading may occur in a graphic that is surrounded by a box created with the Format Border command. This problem is caused when the shading characters don’t exactly match the size of the box. This rounding error appears on most printers with the exception of a few laser printers. Setting the Library Link Graphics “graphics height:” field to .5-inch increments and the Library Link Graphics “graphics width:” field to .1-inch increments should eliminate this problem.
If you are printing on a Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet Series II, IID, IIP, or 2000, this problem is also resolved with a new set of printer drivers that are available by upgrading to Word 5.00b, or obtaining the updated Word 5.00 and 5.50 printer drivers from the Microsoft Download Service (MSDL). The names of the corresponding HP printer drivers have the name DWXHP*.EXE. (The asterisk represents a number 0-7, each a different file.)
DWXHP*.EXE were self-extraction archived using the PKware file-compression utility.
