The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 4.0, 5.0 on the following platforms: MS-DOS ——————————————————————————-
SYMPTOMS
The Microsoft Word version 4.00 printer drivers for the Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet AC/AE and AD/AF font sets incorrectly send the 10-point Helvetica escape sequence when the 11-point Helvetica font is selected. The affected drivers are HPDWNR8P.PRD, HPDWNR8L.PRD, HPDWNSFP.PRD, and HPDWNSFL.PRD.
This problem also occurs in Word 5.00 with HPDWNSFP.PRD.
RESOLUTION
The correction is to replace 10 with 11 in the control code sequence following “beginmod” in the font description table for Helvetica 11.
In Word 5.00 with HPDWNSFP.PRD, modify the PRD file the same as for Word 4.00 to correct the problem.
STATUS
This problem was corrected in Word 5.50.
