Page 60 of the “Getting Started” booklet for Microsoft Word version 5.50 contains an incorrect list of display modes that are available for the Genius MDS (Monochrome Display System) monitors and controller cards.
The correct list of display modes available under DOS is as follows:
Text mode, 25 lines x 80 characters, 2 colors Text mode, 25 lines x 80 characters, 2 colors (attr.) Text mode, 66 lines x 80 characters, 2 colors Text mode, 66 lines x 80 characters, 2 colors (attr.) Graphics mode, 1008 x 736 res., 63 lines x 91 characters, 2 colors
Text display modes followed by (attr.) are attribute display modes. If an attribute display mode is selected, Word will display text formatted for italic, underline, double underline, small kaps, all caps, strikethru, and hidden attributes in a gray background.
