Summary:
An RTF file that contains side by side paragraphs will display incorrect column widths in Word for Windows when converted from RTF.
More Information:
For Example, let’s say you have an original RTF file with two side by side paragraphs, each 2.5 inches wide with a gap between them of 1.5 inch. When the file is converted to RTF in Word for Windows, the columns display as a table, where the first column is 4-inches wide and the second column is 2-inches wide.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows versions 1.00 and 1.10. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
