Summary:
If you are in page view and you choose Header/Footer from the Edit or View menu, selecting Different First Page or Different Odd And Even Pages will not give you the options of First Header or Odd Header/Even Header. To have these options appear in the Edit Header/Footer dialog box, get out of page view.
The options for Different First Page and Different Odd and Even Pages still work in page view. Word for Windows applies the header or footer information according to which page you are currently on. For example, if you select Different First Page, choose Header from the list, and enter a header on the first page, that header will only appear in the first page of the document. If you then go to page 2 of the document and edit the header, that header information will be carried throughout the remainder of the document.
