Footers Paragraphs with Borders Print Incorrectly on LaserJet PSS ID Number: Q69874 Article last modified on 07-14-1994

1.00 1.10 1.10a

WINDOWS

Summary:

A footer formatted with a border (from the Format menu, choose Paragraph and select Border) will not print the border on Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet (Original, Plus, II, IIP, IID) printers. The borders do print, however, on HP LaserJet III series printers.

More Information:

A workaround is to insert and format a table to have the desired border. For example, choose Header/Footer from the Edit menu and then choose Table from the Insert menu. Select the desired rows and columns, then choose Format and select the type of table bordering you want and choose OK. You can then type the Footer text in the table.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows versions 1.00, 1.10 and 1.10a. This problem was correct in Word for Windows verion 2.00
