Summary:
If you have a volume label of DOS 401 SYS, VOL reports the following:
… DOS 401 SYS
However, TREE incorrectly reports the following:
… DOS 401.YS
This problem occurs only if the eighth position in the volume label name is a space.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in MS-DOS version 4.01. This problem does not occur in later versions of MS-DOS.
