Summary:
Multiplan Versions 4.00 and 4.01 send printer control codes differently than earlier versions. Earlier versions of Multiplan allow you to enter control codes in the “setup:” field of the Print Options command.
For Multiplan Versions 4.00 and 4.01, you must put these control codes into the cells of your spreadsheet. To put a control code into a cell, do the following:
- Select the Alpha command and press CTRL+B to tell Multiplan the next character is a control character (for example, CTRL+K is entered as CTRL+BK).
- To put an escape code into a cell, select the Alpha command, press CTRL+B, and press “[”. For example, to enter ESC+M, enter CTRL+B[M.
- Put the control codes in row 1, column 1 to have Multiplan Version 4.00 send the codes, just as earlier versions did with the Print Options “setup:” field.
Further information on this procedure is available in Appendix F of the “Microsoft Multiplan” manual.
