SUMMARY
This article describes important information about installing Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Host Integration Server 2000.
MORE INFORMATION
- To install Host Integration Server 2000 Service Pack 1, you must be an Administrator or a member of the Administrators group.
- Two different ReadMe files exist, and you need to read both of them before you install this Service Pack.
- ReadMesp1.doc is included with the Service Pack.
- ReadMe.htm is located at http://www.microsoft.com/hiserver/downloads/sp1/default.asp.
- Before you install SP1, make a copy of your configuration file (Com.cfg), located in the \Program Files\Host Integration Server\system\config folder.
- Stop the SNABase Service if it is running, and make sure that both COMTI Component Builder and COMTI Manager are closed.
- During SP1 installation, the KBhelp.chm file is not installed to the local hard disk (this is the fix list file that includes the Knowledge Base articles that are included with SP1). You have to manually copy this file from the SP1 source extracted directory.
- During SP1 installation, an His50sp1install.log file is automatically written to the \Program Files\Host Integration Server\upgrade directory. In failing scenarios, a Microsoft Host Integration Server Support Professional must use this file to determine the problem.
- You cannot remove Service Pack 1. After SP1 is installed, the Add/Remove Programs utility does not list the SP as a separate program that you can remove (it lists Host Integration Server 2000 SP1). Clicking the Remove button removes the whole product from the system.
