SYMPTOMS

You send an e-mail message while you work in Offline mode, and then you view the message in the Sent Items folder. The To box and the Sent box may not be populated on the message in the Sent Items folder.

CAUSE

When your e-mail profile is configured to use an Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) e-mail server, the default view for the Sent Items folder displays the From box, the Subject box, and the Received box. This problem occurs when you want to change the Sent Items folder to a different view. For example, you may want to see the To box, the Subject box, and the Sent box on e-mail messages in the Sent Items folder. This problem also occurs in MAPI mode.

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
The fix implements the following DWORD registry keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Options\Mail\IMAP Use Full Headers

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Options\Mail\IMAP Use Full Headers

When this value is present and set to a non-zero value, full headers are converted instead of just the minimal property set. The value in the Policies branch is checked first and takes precedence if it is present.

  1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
  2. Locate and then click one of the following registry keys (depending on where you want to set the option): '

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Options \Mail
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Options\Mail

  3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:

    Value name: IMAP
    Data type: REG_DWORD
    Radix: Hexadecimal
    Value data: 1
  4. Quit Registry Editor.
