Session Summary

In this session, we will discuss the various support tools and techniques included in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me). Topics to be discussed are support tools that have been included in previous operating systems, such as the System Information Utility (Msinfo32), the System Configuration Utility (MSConfig), the Signature Verification Tool (SigVerif), and how best to use them. In addition, we will also explain how to use and understand the new support tools in Windows Me, such as PCHealth System Restore, System File Protection, and Windows Update AutoUpdate. Finally, we will review some changes in, and new techniques for, troubleshooting Windows Me using various log files.

This is a Level 200 session that was recorded February 1, 2001 and presented by Tim Springston. Tim Springston has seven years experience in the computer industry and joined Microsoft in 1998. Tim was part of the Windows Millennium Beta team and helped develop training and documentation for Windows Me.
