Session Summary



This talk will cover the proper techniques for setting up and gathering performance data by using a performance log. It will cover best practices for logging and viewing the data through charts. We will cover the quirks that make using performance monitor a challenge. We will focus our examples around memory issues. We will briefly review the memory model of Windows NT so that the Counters used in the examples make sense to us. We will discuss the differences in leaks in pool versus private memory and the challenges involved in both.
