Session Summary
In this session, we will discuss how to detect, isolate, and troubleshoot kernel-mode driver-based memory leaks that may occur on Microsoft Windows 2000. We will review the process of using Performance Monitor to first detect a kernel mode memory leak, and how to then dig deeper by using a few debug utilities and Driver Verifier to identify the specific driver that is leaking.
This is a Level 400 session that was recorded July 10, 2001 and presented by Mike Morales. Mike Morales has worked in Microsoft Product Support Services for two years. He joined the Performance team in 1999 and became Technical Lead in 2000. Mike has supported Microsoft products since 1996, when he first worked with Windows NT 3.51 in an Enterprise environment. Recently, Mike joined the Debug team in Las Colinas, Texas and will be working on the IA64-Beta project in the coming months.
