Stamps.com Internet Postage Tool Causes an Error Message in Windows XP

SYMPTOMS

When you are using the Stamps.com Internet Postage program, you may receive the following error message:

ipostage.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If the error message is still displayed and if you want to see the data that the error report contains, click the click here link at the bottom of the message box. You then see error signature information that may be similar to:

   App name      App version  Module name  Module version  Offset
   ----------------------------------------------------------------
   ipostage.exe  2.2.3.715    user32.dll   5.1.2600.0      0000f648 
                

CAUSE

This issue may occur because Internet Postage version 2.2.3 is not completely compatible with Windows XP.
