SYMPTOMS
If you type "ETC." in a PowerPoint slide, and French (Canada) spelling is the default spelling dictionary, PowerPoint stops responding.
CAUSE
There is a problem in the French dictionary file that is included with Office XP.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:
