SYMPTOMS

When you try to start the BizTalk Adapter for MQSeries service, you receive the following error message:

Could not start the BizTalk Adapter for MQSeries service on Local Computer. The service did not return an error. This could be an internal Windows error or an internal service error. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

CAUSE

The BizTalk Adapter for MQSeries service requires an account with local administrator rights.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.

After you apply this fix, the account used to start the BizTalk Adapter for MQSeries service requires only Log on as service permissions.
