SYMPTOMS

When you try install the trial version of the Grisoft "AVG 6.0 Anti Virus System" program, your computer may become unstable, and you may receive the following error message:

Crash caused by wndproc = 0x771c887f = "ole32!OleMainThreadWndProc" (Unicode) Class(V): 0xc038, (NV): 0xc038 Name:"OleMainThreadWndClass


If the error message is still displayed and you want to see the data that the error report contains, click the click here link at the bottom of the message box. You may then see error signature information that is similar to the following:

   App name  App version  Module name  Module version  Offset
   ------------------------------------------------------------
   avgw.exe  6.0.0.313    avgw.exe     6.0.0.313       00020a23
                

CAUSE

This issue may occur because the trial version of the "AVG 6.0 Anti Virus System" program is not completely compatible with Windows XP.

RESOLUTION
