SYMPTOMS
When you start Microsoft Word 2000, you may receive an error message that is similar to one of the following:

CAUSE
This issue may occur under the following conditions:
- Word 2000 is installed on the computer.
- Goldmine is installed on the computer.
- Symantec Norton Antivirus is installed and has been used to clear a virus called Bloodhound.
These error messages may occur because Symantec Antivirus removes components of the Goldmine program that also exist in Microsoft Word.
This is a known issue with Symantec Norton Antivirus software and Goldmine.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Visit the following Symantec Web site:
- When the Web page appears, type Goldmine, Microsoft Word, Bloodhound in the Search box, and then click Search.
- Select the following article: "Norton AntiVirus detects Bloodhound.import in Gmlink.dot." You may have to uninstall Goldmine, and then reinstall the software. For more information about this procedure, contact Goldmine customer support.
