OL2002: The Original Meeting Is Deleted If You Use the Direct Booking Feature to Reschedule an Existing Meeting

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Direct Booking feature to reschedule an existing meeting, the original meeting may be deleted from the resource's calendar.

If the time that you are trying to reschedule the meeting for is already booked, you receive the following message when you try to send an update to the invitees

"Conference Room name" is already booked for the specified time. You must use another time or find another resource.

and the original meeting is deleted from the Conference Room calendar at this point, and the meeting item is left open for editing.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2).
