XCCC: You Cannot Sort Exchange Instant Messenger Contacts into Groups

SYMPTOMS

In MSN Messenger 4.5 or later, you cannot sort your Exchange Instant Messaging contacts into groups. When you right-click an Exchange Instant Messaging contact, the Move Contact to and Copy Contact to options are not available.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

Only those contacts who use the .NET Messenger service can be placed into groups. Contacts who belong to Exchange Instant Messaging are automatically assigned to Microsoft Exchange Instant Messaging.
