OL2002: Running Outlook 2002 with the "/cleanfreebusy" Switch Resets the Resource Scheduling and Delegate Settings

SYMPTOMS

If you run Outlook 2002 with the /cleanfreebusy switch, the resource scheduling options and the delegate settings may be reset.

CAUSE

This problem can occur when you run Outlook 2002 with the /cleanfreebusy switch because Outlook deletes the local free and busy message of the user in the information store, and then regenerates the local free and busy message. The resource scheduling option and the delegate information that are stored in the local free busy message are lost during the regeneration.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 1.
