SYMPTOMS

In a mixed Windows XP and Windows 2000 environment, if you view a 64-bit software installation package with the Windows 2000 version of the Application Deployment Editor (ADE) tool, you see "Intel,Alpha" instead of "Intel64" in the general properties for the package.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If you view the package with the Windows XP version of ADE, "Intel64" is correctly displayed.
