SUMMARY

When you install Microsoft Autoroute, Microsoft MapPoint, or Microsoft Streets & Trips, the Typical installation does not include all the files that the program requires. When you try to run the program, you are prompted for the Run CD. This article explains how to avoid having to use the Run CD.

You can remove and then reinstall the program with the Full installation option so that access to the CD drive is not needed.

See the documentation that came with your product to determine how much free hard drive space the product requires.

To remove and then reinstall the program with the Full installation option, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click the Install/Uninstall tab.


Select the Autoroute, MapPoint, or Streets and Trip product that you are using.

  1. Click Add/Remove, and then click Next.
  2. Click Remove, and then click Next.
  3. Click Remove.


If you are prompted to restart your computer after the installer is finished running, click Yes.

  1. Insert the Setup CD in your CD drive.


The Setup program starts automatically.

  1. Click Next three times.
  2. Click Full installation, click Next, and then click Install.
  3. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the installation.
