The Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2) Network Installation file (W2ksp2.exe) includes all of the Windows 2000 SP2 files that you need to install Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server, or Windows 2000 Advanced Server. This file is an ideal download mechanism if you require a downloadable copy of Windows 2000 SP2 to use for network deployment. It is recommended that you have an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) or faster Internet connection to download this file.
Note that the French or Spanish version of the network installation file that was available for downloading prior to May 25, 2001, may cause problems if you use it to create a Windows 2000 SP2-integrated share. It is important to download the current version of the file. If you do not want to create an integrated installation with the French or Spanish version of W2ksp2.exe, or if you are using any other language, you do not need to download this file again.

Windows 2000 SP2 Is Not Installed
- Locate and open the folder in which you downloaded W2ksp2.exe.
- Right-click W2ksp2.exe, click Properties, and then click Digital Signatures:
- French and Spanish: If the timestamp date is May 11, 2001, download the current version from the following Microsoft Web site that has a timestamp of May 25, 2001:
- French and Spanish: If the timestamp date is May 25, 2001, you have the current version of the file.
Windows 2000 SP2 Is Installed
- Click Start, click Run, type winver in the Open box, and then click OK.
- If you are not using the most current version of the file, the following information is displayed:
