SYMPTOMS

If you follow the steps outlined in the "Enabling AuthFilter for Supplier Solution Site" section of the Commerce Server 2000 online documentation that is installed with the product, users cannot log on to the site. To find the "Enabling AuthFilter for Supplier Solution Site" section, search for auth supplierad.

CAUSE

The Commerce Server 2000 online documentation is missing the steps outlined in the "Resolution" section of this article. If you install Commerce Server 2000 on a computer that is different than your Domain Controller, you must enable the Trust Computer for Delegation option. This is mandatory if you are going to allow users to change their password, create users, or log on to a site.

RESOLUTION

To enable the Trust Computer for Delegation property in the Active Directory Server:

  1. Open the Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. Locate the Commerce Server in the Computers folder.
  3. Open the property sheet for the computer.
  4. On the General tab, click to check the Trust Computer for Delegation check box.
  5. Restart Commerce Server 2000.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Commerce Server 2000.
