Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 Help Does Not Return Expected Topic

Article ID: 295880

Article Last Modified on 10/27/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 Service Pack 1

This article was previously published under Q295880

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to access the context-sensitive Help documentation in the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) Administrator console, the first page of the Help file is displayed if the current context is any of the following contexts:

  • Monitor
  • Rules
  • Configuration

If you click any of these nodes and attempt to access the context-sensitive Help documentation, the Help documentation for the topic is not displayed; however, the first page of the Help file is displayed.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The expected behavior is that when you click a node and then click Help from either the context menu or the toolbar, the Help file opens to the correct help section. For example, if you click the Rules node and then click Help on the context menu, the Rules snap-in section of the Help file should be displayed.
