OL97: Only the Read Status of a Message that You Read Offline is Synchronized with the Exchange Server

Article ID: 286489

Article Last Modified on 1/29/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Outlook 97 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q286489

SUMMARY

If you read a message while you are working offline, only the read status is synchronized with the Microsoft Exchange Server the next time that you work online.

MORE INFORMATION

This occurs because the read status is the only property that is uniquely handled during synchronization, and the entire message is not synchronized with the server. If you make any other modifications to the message, the entire message is synchronized with the Exchange server.
