On a computer with a PCI network adapter:

An error has occurred. To continue:

Error: 06 : 1B87 : 0004BEA

If you press keys other than CTRL+ALT+DEL, your computer may become unresponsive to the keyboard and the reset button.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the network cable is disconnected, or if the network adapter does not detect the presence of network media, which can occur if the local hub is powered down or if the connection is offline for any reason.

The system stack becomes vulnerable to damage when the display is changed to text mode. The error message on a blue screen occurs when an attempt is made to register the network adapter with the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) components.
