SYMPTOMS
When you view movie clips in the Microsoft Windows Movie Maker monitor, the image that is displayed in the monitor is not the same as that of the thumbnail view of the clip.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when the clips that you are viewing have been imported into Windows Movie Maker from an Audio Video Interleaved (.avi) file format. When you view movie clips in the Windows Movie Maker monitor, if you preview an .avi file, the last frame of the preceding clip is displayed.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
