SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to capture video from the Hauppauge WinTV Universal Serial Bus (USB) capture device, video is captured but the audio is not. This behavior occurs when you use standard video or audio capture, or the TV Tuner features of the device.
CAUSE
The Hauppauge WinTV USB driver's audio output is not compatible with Microsoft Windows Movie Maker (DirectShow).
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, edit video that is captured with the Hauppauge WinTV USB using Microsoft Windows Movie Maker. To do this, capture the file using the software available with the Hauppauge WinTV USB, and then save it as a supported file type for use in Windows Movie Maker. Then import the file into Windows Movie Maker.
MORE INFORMATION
This behavior can also affect other capture applications that use Direct Show with the Hauppauge WinTV USB.
