SYMPTOMS
Windows Media Player version 6.4 supports a CreationDate property that retrieves a value that specifies the date and time that a clip was created. Windows Media Player version 7 and 7.1 do not support the CreationDate property in this context.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.

Windows Media Player 7 and 7.1 support the CreationDate property for an .asf file; however, this is the date that the file was added to the media library.
