SYMPTOMS
When you click the Insert menu, the menu takes a while to appear.

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior
- Start Visio 2000 Technical Edition.
- When the Welcome to Visio dialog box appears, click Cancel.
- On the Standard toolbar, click the New Drawing tool.
- Click the Insert menu. Note that there is a momentary (3-5 second) delay before the menu appears
NOTE: The pause only occurs the first time that you click the Insert menu. To see the pause again, you must restart Visio.
