SYMPTOMS
When you edit an existing Visio drawing embedded in a Microsoft Word document, you may receive the following error message:

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior
- Start Word.
- On the Insert menu, click Object, click the Create From File tab, click Browse, and then select an existing Visio drawing.
- Click OK.
- Right-click the Visio drawing, point to Visio Object, and then click Edit.
