SUMMARY
The Platform SDK documentation that is included in the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Library incorrectly lists SChannel as a security package that you can use with Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) on Microsoft Windows 2000. This is a documentation bug. SChannel is not a supported security package for DCOM on Windows 2000.

The following security packages are supported with DCOM on Windows 2000:
- NTLMSSP (Microsoft Windows NT LAN Manager)
- Kerberos v5 Protocol
- Snego
NOTE: Snego does not provide authentication services, but checks for available security packages and selects the most appropriate one.
