SYMPTOMS

When you cancel the Organization Chart Wizard, you receive the following error message, and then Visio quits:

An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated. Visio32.exe.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).

To temporarily work around this problem, do not cancel the wizard. Continue through the wizard, clicking Next until the wizard is finished. Then, close the drawing without saving it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.  This problem was corrected in Microsoft Visio 2000 SR-1.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. On the File menu, point to New, point to Organization Chart, and then click Organization Chart Wizard.
  2. When the Organization Chart Wizard starts, click Cancel.
  3. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Choose Drawing Type.


Note that you receive the error message mentioned in the "Symptoms" section, and then Visio quits.
