SUMMARY

Skins are a new feature in Media Player 7 and 7.1 that allow the user to customize the appearance of Windows Media Player in Compact Mode.

To Apply a Skin

To apply a skin, while in Full Mode, click the Skin Chooser tab. In the list of skins, select the skin you prefer, and then click Apply skin. This changes the player layout and adds the Media Player anchor to the bottom right corner of your screen.

To Download New Skins

To download new skins, while in Full Mode, click the Skin Chooser tab. In the list of skins, click More Skins to go to the Windows Media Web site where you will find a list of available skins to download.

Choose the skin you would like to download, and then click Download. The skin will be added to your list of skins, and will then be an available skin to choose.

To Delete Skins

To delete skins, while in Full Mode, click the Skin Chooser tab. Highlight the skin you want to delete from the list, click X to delete it, and then confirm your choice.

Additional Options

You can also change between Compact Mode (skins) and Full Mode by using the following key combinations:

  • CTRL+1: Full
  • CTRL+2: Compact

Additional Information

If you choose to download a skin package to the computer and install it later, it is saved as a *.wmz file.
