SUMMARY
Upgrading from Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Release Candidate 1 (RC1) to Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Release to Market (RTM) version is not supported because the security model from RC1 to RTM has been changed extensively. This article explains how to determine which version you are using.
MORE INFORMATION
Before you attempt to upgrade, to determine if you are using RC1, check the following information:
The groups that are created by RC1 and previous versions of Exchange 2000 are as follows:
- All Exchange Servers
- Domain EXServers
In RTM, these groups become:
- Exchange Enterprise Servers
- Exchange Domain Servers
After you have determined what version you are running, you can uninstall that version, and then reinstall using the RTM build.
