- Microsoft Site Server 3.0 Commerce Edition
This article was previously published under Q244251
SYMPTOMS
Web sites with the ability to use Microsoft Wallet to make purchases, such as some of the sample sites included with Site Server, do not display the wallet, even though the browser being used supports it.
CAUSE
The Browscap.ini file, which lists the capabilities of various browsers, does not have an entry for the browser being used.
Note: Because Microsoft Wallet requires that the browscap entry indicate that the platform is a Win32 platform, "wildcard" entries for a browser version do not work.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, either manually update the Browscap.ini file, or download a recent version it.

Note: Windows NT Service Packs usually contain an updated version of the Browscap.ini file.

Wallet Availability in Windows 2000
The standalone Microsoft Wallet shipped in products prior to Windows 2000 is not supported by Windows 2000. Windows 2000 instead supports the Microsoft Passport, which includes the Passport wallet service.
For information about the Microsoft Passport, see http://www.passport.com/.
