SYMPTOMS
When you try to play a file with Windows Media Player, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the file you are trying to play was created with Windows Media Rights Manager, and you are using an Alpha-based computer. This technology is for securing multimedia content and managing permissions to obtain access to it, but the ability to play Rights Manager protected content is not yet available for Alpha-based computers.

Although you cannot play this file, you can play multimedia files that do not use Rights Manager technology on Alpha-based computers.
