SYMPTOMS

When you press any of the Hot Keys on the Microsoft Keyboard, unexpected or illegible characters may be displayed on the screen.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you press a Hot Key when your computer is running in an MS-DOS environment.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue from occurring, press the Keyboard Hot Keys in the following operating systems only:

  • Microsoft Windows 95
  • Microsoft Windows 98
  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2000
  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
