APPLIES TO

- Microsoft Draw! 98
This article was previously published under Q218744
SYMPTOMS
When you insert a Microsoft Draw 98 frame into Microsoft Publisher that contains a cropped clip art image, you will only see the cropped clip art object. When you return to Publisher after you edit the Microsoft Draw 98 object, none of your other drawing objects will appear. This behavior does not occur in other applications that use Microsoft Draw 98.
CAUSE
This is caused by the following:
- The clip art image is cropped.
- The order in which items were added to the drawing. For example, you inserted the cropped clip art before you inserted any other drawing objects.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, please use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Re-insert the Clip Art Image
Delete the first cropped clip art object, and then insert the same clip art image and crop it again. When you insert the cropped clip art image last, you will prevent this problem from occurring.
Method 2: Cut and Paste the Cropped Clip Art Image
You can cut and paste the cropped clip art image. To do this, follow these steps:
- To edit your Microsoft Draw 98 object, double-click it.
- Click to select the cropped clip art image.
- On the Edit menu, click Cut.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste.
- To return to Microsoft Publisher, click your Publication.
Your cropped clip art image, along with all other drawing objects, should now appear in your Microsoft Draw 98 object.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
