SYMPTOMS
Microsoft Word may appear to stop responding when you initiate a mail merge by using a Microsoft Access parameter query. You may also receive the following error messages:
If you click Yes, you again receive the same error message.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Word is waiting for you to type information into the Microsoft Access parameter query input box.
WORKAROUND
To switch to the Microsoft Access parameter query input box, press ALT+TAB, type the required text, and then click OK.
NOTE: If you save your mail merge main document as a template, and then create a new document based on the template, the Microsoft Access parameter query will prompt you without requiring you to press ALT+TAB.
MORE INFORMATION
A Microsoft Access parameter query prompts you to enter certain criteria each time that the query runs.
For more information about a parameter query, click Microsoft Access Help on the Help menu, type parameter query in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics returned.
