SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Word 2000, when you create a multilevel list, and then apply one of the outline numbered list formats that appear on the Outline Numbered tab under Bullets and Numbering, you find that your list is missing levels.
For example, instead of appearing as follows:
1. One 1.1. Two 1.1.1. Three
Your list may instead appear as follows:
1. One 1.1.1. Two 1.1.1.1.1.1. Three
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, change the level of items in your list in one of the following ways:
- Select a list item, and then press SHIFT+TAB or TAB.
-or-
- Select an item, and then click Decrease Indent or Increase Indent on the Formatting toolbar.
