SYMPTOMS
After you log on, there are no icons displayed on the screen and the only options are to log out or shut down the server.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when running a filter Gina.dll. The problem is caused by a race condition in Winlogon which causes the default desktop to be Winlogon.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
