SYMPTOMS
When you try to issue a Content Replication System (CRS) command using the command-line tool Crs.exe, the following error message appears:
The following is found in the Crssrv.log file:
01/05/98 17:00:05 DBG 0 265 AcceptSecurityContext returned 80090308
The 80090308 return code maps to SEC_E_INVALID_TOKEN, which means that a security token was found to be improperly formatted.
CAUSE
This problem is caused by an older version of Security.dll, specifically, the original version of the Windows NT 4.0 Security.dll file.
Microsoft Commercial Internet System (MCIS) products such as the Content Replication System (CRS) require, at minimum, Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, upgrade to Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 or later.
