SYMPTOMS
When importing an Open Financial Connectivity (OFC) file into Microsoft Money 98 or Money 99, you may receive the following error message:
The file you imported contained invalid or corrupted data. Use your home banking software to create a new data file and try the import again.
CAUSE
This error message occurs when the file format of the file you are importing is not based on the latest OFC specification. This file cannot be imported into Money 98 or Money 99.
STATUS
Until the source of the OFC file updates their server software, you cannot import their OFC files into Money 98 or Money 99.
MORE INFORMATION
The most common problem with the format of files that generate this error is that the NAME field is longer than 32 characters.
Microsoft Money 97 does not have this problem and does accept this file format. Money 99 and 98 follow the OFC specifications more strictly, and therefore do not accept fields that are too long.
