SYMPTOMS

Permission and Summary tabs are missing on sub-folders created under public folders.

CAUSE

The Microsoft Exchange add-in, Emsuix.ecf was removed or otherwise not installed or activated.

RESOLUTION

Install the Emsuix.ecf Extension

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the General tab, click Add-In Manager.
  3. Click Install, and click to select Emsuix.ecf. Click Open, then OK, and OK to close all dialog boxes.

Activate the Extension

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the General tab click Add-In Manager.
  3. Click to select Exchange Extensions.
  4. Click OK, and OK to close all dialog boxes.


MORE INFORMATION

The add-in Emsuix.ecf adds functionality specific to Microsoft Exchange Server. The user may also notice other options missing or not active, such as Synchronize, Inbox Assistant, and Out of Office Assistant. This and other extensions are located in the folder.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Addins\<filename.ecf>


If the extension or add-in is not on your computer you can copy it from the Office 97 or Outlook compact disc. These files are located in the,

<cd drive letter>:\Office\Addins\


folder and can be copied directly from the compact disc to your computer. After copying the file to your computer proceed with the installation.
