Refreshing MSN Home Page Causes MSN Marquee to Disappear

Last reviewed: January 14, 1997
Article ID: Q154014

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.0 for Windows 95

SYMPTOMS

If your MSN, The Microsoft Network, home page is set up to display stock quotes and you click the Refresh button to get the latest update, the scrolling marquee may disappear.

CAUSE

The MSN home page calls on a different server to relay the information for stock quotes back to the page. If this server is busy, or has too many hits when you request the refresh, the scrolling marquee may not be displayed because the server could not be reached to gain access to the stock information.

RESOLUTION

Click Refresh again. You may have to click Refresh several times to restore the scrolling marquee.
