SYMPTOMS
The AutoSignature feature does not insert signature information into a message based on a custom mail form.
CAUSE
The AutoSignature feature only works with the default mail form and a custom form cannot be assigned as the default mail form.
RESOLUTION
To simulate the AutoSignature feature in a custom mail form there are two tasks to complete.
- Select the AutoSignature feature.
- Create a custom form.
To select the AutoSignature feature, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- On the Mail Format tab, click Signature Picker, and click New.
- Type a name for your signature and click Next.
- Type the text you want for the AutoSignature and click Finish, OK, and OK.
To create a custom form, follow these steps:
- Create a new mail message based on the default message form.
NOTE: Do not remove the signature information inserted in the new form.
- On the Tools menu, point to Forms and click Design This Form.
- Customize the form using the form design tools.
- On the Tools menu, point to Forms and click Publish Form As.
- Type a name for the form, and then click Publish.
Any messages based on the new form will include the signature information.
