SYMPTOMS Under Windows 3.0, when an application calls the AllocDStoCSAlias function to alias a selector and that selector is released by the FreeSelector function, the application experiences an unrecoverable application error (UAE).
RESOLUTION Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows version 3.0. Do not use the FreeSelector function to release an aliased selector. Windows will free the selector automatically when the application terminates.
This problem was corrected in Windows version 3.1.
